Holding regime: listed in Annex 2 in column (c) of the Order of 8 October 2018. Certificate of competence and authorisation to open compulsory from the first specimen (except domestic varieties). The keeping regime concerns the nominal form and all its subspecies, including Asians.
Domestic varieties listed in the ministerial decree of 11 August 2006: white, brown, agate, pastel, isabella, satin and combinations of these mutations. All other coloured varieties have the status of protected non-domestic species.
Identification: I-FAP marking and registration compulsory.

Order of 28 June 2021 (Reunion Island): Keeping only possible in ex-situ conservation or research establishments. The keeping of domestic varieties of this species is prohibited on the territory of Réunion.
